Senior Project Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Zoning Reviews of municipal zoning, land development ordinances, and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the property
  • Site Investigation & Due Diligence, including utility service research, and site visits to establish comprehensive development guidelines
  • Preparation of Concept Drawings based upon client’s development objectives and conclusions of due diligence. Involves preparation of concept plan, including coordination with AutoCAD drafters
  • Design of Stormwater Management & Stormwater Conveyance Systems, including preparation of pipe sizing calculations, drainage area maps, surface runoff coefficients, invert, slope, velocity & hydraulic grade line evaluation
  • Grading Design with Civil 3D to ensure value engineering is achieved through earthwork analysis, and site safety is accomplished
  • Design of Utility Systems, including stormwater conveyance, sanitary sewer service, water, gas, telephone service, etc.
  • Soil Erosion & Sediment Control Design, including calculations, Best Management Practices and construction sequencing
  • Preparation of Construction Cost Estimates based upon site plan drawings as required for bonding and client purposes
  • Project Coordination, including conferring with Client and Counsel, Project Team and affiliates for the purpose of preparing a comprehensive site plan application
  • Preparation of Written Correspondence with outside agencies, Client, counsel, contractor, etc.  Also includes preparation of technical reports and narratives
  • Attendance to and making public plan presentations and client management
  • Support Senior Management with budgeting and invoicing process
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE Preferred
  • 8 – 10+ years of commercial site design and permitting experience
  • Experience designing residential subdivisions and other commercial, manufacturing and/or office types of development sites with limited supervision and the ability to compile a full set of civil site plan documents for issuance
  • Must have the ability to understand and implement jurisdictional requirements in the design of retail and commercial projects, including knowledge of the PA Municipal Planning Process
  • Knowledge of stormwater management design regulations should include County, State and governing municipality
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required, including proposed surface modeling using grading tools and corridors, Hydraflow and/or HydraCAD
  • Self-starter who can work independently and with team members
  • Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals
  • Strong organizational skills
  • A proven track record in project engineering and exposure to business development/marketing experience is a plus

Survey Project Manager (PLS)

Job Description:

Professional Land Surveyor (state of PA minimum) to help lead our growing surveying department by providing technical expertise and assistance in oversight of the survey practice, assist in monitoring field and office procedures and offer strategic visioning/leadership to identifying opportunities. Additionally, work with the other practices within the firm to provide an integrated approach to project collaboration while addressing our client’s needs. This position will be eligible for the future Director of Surveying here at Red Swing.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare/review daily data, and assist in monitoring field survey crews
  • Help direct field and office staff to execute field surveys
  • Perform quality control of survey plans, record plats, descriptions and reviews of title commitments
  • Process field work data
  • Prepare and review CAD work, plats and final surveys
  • Survey boundary analysis and computations of ALTA and topography surveys utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Assist in training and management of survey department field crews, CAD technicians, and support staff
  • Schedule and coordinate between other departments and companies
  • Occasionally perform field survey work
  • Meet with clients to discuss their needs and review projects

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 10 years of experience
  • Pennsylvania Professional Land Surveyor Registration (PLS)
  • Strong competence in using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong multi-tasking and follow-up skills
  • Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to staff in the growing survey practice
